Basket Raffle - A great school fundraising idea

Fundraising Ideas? A basket raffle is a great school fundraising idea for many reasons. It is kind of like a silent auction…but without the event. Each grade level is assigned to create a beautiful basket full of things that people really want. You can have a theme by grade or an overall theme for the school (sports, family fun, crafts, outdoor, cooking/baking, gaming, scrap booking, techno geek extravaganza, books/student desk accessories, travel, etc.)

How it Works

The idea is that each class is responsible for collecting donated items to support their theme. Once these beautiful creations are completed, raffle tickets are sold school-wide to parents (grandparents, neighbors, friends, etc.) for $2 each or 3 for $5. (Or whatever you deem reasonable).

The baskets can be displayed in a central area at school so everyone can see how lovely and creative each classroom is. Of course, the kids will start talking about which classrooms’ basket is the coolest and which one they want (…yes, that will drive up those ticket sales).

Then the winning tickets can be drawn in a public way (maybe at Back to School Night or some other school wide activity). The lucky winners can come to the school to pick up their basket.
