Fifty Fifty Raffle
Just as the name implies, the fifty fifty raffle consists of selling raffle tickets and the charity and the winner split the pot evenly – 50/50. This concept has been popular for years and it can be done on a routine basis or as an add on to another event that your non profit is hosting. HOW IT WORKS: Raffle tickets are sold very inexpensively usually for fifty cents per ticket or three for one dollar. Other fun ways to sell tickets are an arm’s length for five dollars or the span of the buyer from head to toe for ten dollars. Feel free to use the inexpensive tear in two type of raffle tickets. You can typically get a large roll for under $5 dollars. At the end of the allotted time period, the winning ticket is drawn and the pot is split with half of the proceeds going to the winner and the other half to the charity. MORE IDEAS: Some non profits use this free fundraising idea during monthly or weekly meetings. One group I know passes a coffee can around at each of their monthly meetings. Usually, the group will raise $100 or more each week. It is easy and painless and with this monthly average the charity earns $1,200 a year for not much work (and one lucky person goes home with an extra $100 in their wallet!). ADD TO ANOTHER EVENT: This idea is a really easy to piggyback onto an existing fundraiser. Since it is so easy, remember to give the proper resources so it will be successful like enough advertising as well as people to sell tickets so that your pot gets large enough. At some events this raffle becomes one of the most fun because everyone wants to see who the lucky winner will be (and of course, they want it to be them!). IN SUMMARY: The fifty fifty raffle is one of the best free fundraising ideas because it is so easy and requires hardly any work at all.
